Andrew S. Turret

Andrew S. Turret graduated cum laude from the State University of New York at Albany with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1986 and he received his Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School of Union University in 1990. He is admitted to the practice of law in the Connecticut and New York State Courts, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. He frequently volunteers his time to serve as a Mock Trial Judge for various competitions.


He began his career as a Judicial Research Clerk for the Connecticut Superior Court in 1990, where he researched and wrote proposed decisions on motions pending before the Court. In 1991, he moved to the private sector and spent the next thirty-four years trying civil jury cases in federal and state courthouses throughout the state, over eight years with a private insurance defense law firm and over 25 years with a Liberty Mutual staff counsel operation. During that time, he also served as an advocate at hundreds of arbitrations, mediations, and settlement conferences, and focused on complex litigation matters in the state and federal courts including cases involving construction site litigation, trucking law, premises liability, auto liability and general liability. He also argued numerous appeals to the Connecticut Appellate Court, the Connecticut Supreme Court, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He also served as the managing attorney of Liberty Mutual’s Staff Counsel offices in New Haven and Wallingford from 2005 to 2010.


In July of 2025, he was appointed as an Attorney Trial Referee and an Arbitrator by the Connecticut Judicial Branch for a three-year term for the Judicial Districts of Bridgeport and Stamford. In October of 2025, he was awarded a Certification in Professional Mediation by the Scheinman Institute on Conflict Resolution at the ILR School, Cornell University, after completing comprehensive training in the process and knowledge needed by practitioners in the alternative dispute resolution field. In March of 2026, he further sharpened his skills as a Mediator when he completed 40-hours of Mediation Skills Training at the Center on Dispute Resolution at Quinnipiac University School of Law.


In August of 2026 he joined Milano & Wanat where he focuses on advocating for clients in civil litigation, and on alternative dispute resolution as a mediator and arbitrator.
